Is Apple managed to surprise someone today? Certainly not the specifications presented tablets. Key pieces of information as to how they differ from their predecessors and what they have under the hood of the new iPads leaked a few days earlier. The event itself once again became a formality so having confirmed the leaks and speculation behind the scenes.

does not change the overall picture. Today’s changes in the company’s tablet offering from Cupertino are really interesting and goes beyond classical chops reheating.

iPad Air

the 9.7-inch iPad Air 5 generation, Apple has done everything to eliminate the soft underbelly of its flagship tablet. The problem was not the screen, or performance, but annoying at times niepor?czno?? iPad. Holding it in one hand, was never comfortable – now this is about to change.

The new iPad is a much slimmed down, which was made possible with a clear narrowing of the frame around the screen and casing thickness reduction of 2 mm. iPad Air is smaller (240 x 169.5 x 7.5 mm) and lighter by almost one-third lighter than the fourth generation. The basic model with Wi-Fi now weighs only 469 grams, less than a plastic Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 3.

In this context, the refreshed hardware in the form borrowed from the Apple iPhone 5S A7 and contiguity recedes into the background. What is really important? Thinner iPad Air is still able to work 10 hours of battery life. It also supports MIMO (multi-antenna signal transmission Wi-Fi), so with the right router ensures faster and less prone to noise data transfer.

iPad Mini with Retina

New iPad mini has the same resolution as the bigger brother (2048 x 1536 pixels), and thus de facto a more advanced display.

Apple decided to put in the middle of a smaller iPad the same performance as a model system A7 Air, so both tablets offer far more powerful than today’s hardware. Buying an iPad Mini with Retina model ceases to be so compromise style more mobility but less performance. On the other hand, still rather not count on the same potential for both devices. Already during the conference there is information about the “truncated” version of the A7 in smaller iPad – probably from having to remain at a reasonable level of energy consumption. Is the difference will be large, explain only the first comparative tests.

new tablet is slightly thicker than its predecessor (7.5 mm to 7.2 mm) and slightly heavier (331 g instead of 308 g basic Wi-Fi model). The offer came as the tablet version of 128 GB of flash memory. Unfortunately, Apple took the opportunity and raised the price of the basic version of the iPad mini with 329 to $ 399, which is likely a result of a better place in the device screen.

Importantly, after today’s release of the Apple offer will be available until four models of tablets, because the company does not resign from the sale of the iPad 2 Generation 16 GB version or the current base model iPad mini (without the Retina display). Not only that, the other for $ 299 cheaper, and therefore also in Poland should be more accessible as it is in some sense the device opening the door to the world of Apple’s tablet.
