Hello. Recently, I have probably a lot of luck, I went to a lot of great equipment. Slightly bored laptop reviews I decided to turn to something else. My choice fell on the tablet HP ElitePad 900 G1. If anyone is closely following my blog will notice that the last bit of hardware from HP tested. I certify that unfortunately does not work in this company, nor signed any agreement with it: P
I remember in one of my previous entries, or in a comment said that if the tablet is only with Windows 8, you may not counting the Nexus 7 My approach to the tablet device is a little different, I will not only have a smartphone with a larger screen, I want something more. My ideal tablet will run Windows 8 (not to be confused with Windows RT), primarily to provide mobility, but, if necessary, give me a substitute for a computer.
Design
HP ElitePad 900 G1 has been designed for business, so the quality of execution as the HP EliteBook Folio 9470m is the highest level. The manufacturer decided to cover almost the entire device aluminum, another material used only in the back of the card, which will improve coverage somehow WiFi, NFC and 3G. Everything was perfectly folded, I think this tablet is able to withstand quite a bit. As I mentioned earlier HP ElitePad 900 is designed primarily for business, so the style does not stand out, it is simple and elegant. The entire front panel is covered with a resistant glass Gorilla Glass 2 Black rims fit screen device looks extremely elegant.
the front you will find the Windows key is used to unlock the device and the transition to the start screen in Windows 8, a light sensor and a webcam for video calling 2 megapixel resolution. On the upper edge there are two buttons, one on the left hand is used to zablokowywania and unlock the tablet, and right off / on the trading screen. On the back you will find buttons for volume control and a webcam with a resolution of 8 Megapixel.
tablet from HP was made at the highest level, I do not what to attach. In my opinion this is one of the slickest devices on the market.
Smart Jacket
HP ElitePad 900 does not have any connectors that would make this tablet is more, gave me a substitute for a computer. We are helped by the Smart Jacket, the additional housing. It is this solution meant that my assessment of the tablet significantly increased and I realized that HP ElitePad can check out the business. Smart Jacket provides us with two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output, SD card reader and an extra battery. HP Tablet fits perfectly into additional housing, it seems that it is the whole. Smart Cover Jacket is made of opaque material so nicely kept it in his hands.
Interestingly it looks like mounting the tablet in an additional housing which breaks down into two parts. The two parts of the housing are also kept by the use of magnesium, in addition to strengthening the connection, this solution makes it easier to connect.
course, the use of the Smart Jacket also has disadvantages. HP ElitePad becomes less handy, thicker and heavier. Weight of 630 g is increased to 1.07 kg. Additional housing allows us to connect a keyboard or mouse, but to me tablet hybrid solutions better suited. We always have with you an additional physical keyboard with touchpad. We can more easily change the tablet device giving us the computer.
Screen
HP ElitePad screen provides a fairly uncommon screen ratio, ie 16:10. At 10.1 inches, the manufacturer decided to 1280×800 resolution. Reflected color is really very good. Noteworthy is a great big black reproduction or viewing angles. The manufacturer decided to gloss matrix, the maximum backlight gives us very good visibility even outdoors. Haptic feedback is immediate, the screen is responsive, supports a maximum of 5 points. I’ve noticed that sometimes there are problems with the gesture of closing the application in the Modern UI is not always properly detected. I do not know whether there are other copies.
screen is covered with Gorilla Glass 2 and the coating, which is to reduce fingerprints. In my film medium works, traces of our fingers are still quite clear, as in most of the layers to ensure the safety of our screens.

sound and camera
HP ElitePad 900, although it is not signed with Beats Audio logo HP Envy x2 as it has good quality speakers. The sound quality was a bit surprised, a business unit did not expect such a clear sound. It is unfortunate that I have no way of comparing ElitePada Envy x2, because I think the sound quality is the same.
do not know why, but the quality feels strange somehow when I test the camera on devices with Windows 8 Perhaps this is due to my habit to previous versions of Windows, which are fit only for computers. Quality rear webcam with a resolution of 8 Megapixel you can see in these photos:
In my pictures are really good quality. Already again HP ElitePad 900 surprised me with multimedia functions, which in business solutions might seem less emphasis is put.
Summary
HP ElitePad 900 certainly can be classified as premium, suggests: very good build quality, materials and attention to every item. HP Tablet surprised me with multimedia features, good sound quality, good camera or a good webcam for video calls. It turned out that the business unit can also check out great in our home as a portable entertainment center.
Although the tablet itself does not have the characteristics that distinguish it from the rest of the equipment for the average user to solutions such as Smart Jackets certainly are used in business. Ability to connect the keyboard and mouse to the tablet, especially Windows 8 – a system that will allow us to run classic applications for many it may be the key factor when choosing tablet. However, if such solutions are better than hybrid tablet as the HP Envy x2, it’s hard to state clearly. It all depends on your requirements as to the tablet, how and where we use it, and often will use the device as a tablet or laptop.
