Today’s episode of our short series of articles devoted to the practical application of graphics tablets, and especially tablets Wacom Intuos family is special in many respects. That is why today we approach our subject in a special way and we treat photography as a creative material more than as a medium in itself.

After a short deliberation, however, I asked: “and what it is really all you do with photos?”. The answer initially was in line with expectations, but after a while, however, surprised me: “do not, sometimes I try something else. But you see, I do not know how to draw, and more advanced techniques, but it’s something borderline graphic works. Masks, selections, layers , combining … Sometimes one would like to do something more, but just do not quit. “. Perfectly understood his problem, because I had the same. I am a photographer, not a graphic designer. I can take a picture, but I could not draw anything anymore. However, I think the tablet as a tool very helpful and in some cases irreplaceable. So I suggested somewhat ironically: maybe let’s different? Tell me what you want to do with the photo, and then try to achieve this using tablet, graphics and our scarce skills. And it was a hit.

My friend rarely become the necessity of making serious steps retuszowych with your photos. The reasons for doing so were two: First uncommon stood in front of such a need, or so he thought. To illustrate his requests chose the image, which is in fact quite banal photograph made by a group of skiers. The task we set before him, had to rely on the conversion of such a frame into something more – an illustration, which is an interesting souvenir from the trip. We decided to get creative. The initial plan was to clear the frame of redundant elements, swapping the gray sky to something more interesting and overall improve the appearance of the image. These were the steps which, as he said himself interested, it would be difficult to perform in a manner that ensures good effect.
Does photograph must always be just a photograph?
Working in this way, we have entered into knowingly, which for many is a taboo subject, or even blasphemy – and certainly not worthy of discussing on the site devoted to photography. However we decided to look at this topic a bit favorably why shooters would portray events as they saw them first, and not as they remembered them we. The overall impression of an event affects after a whole bunch of factors – including such “non-visual” as our personal experiences, mood, and memories of details that do not necessarily have been captured on the lens. Organization of work
This time we leave the chapter on the tablet configuration – each of you already know about it enough to freely select the right tools. Sometimes of our work is unfortunately not what we need. How do you cope in such a case? Well, you just have a little look around.

Photography backgrounds, we chose ourselves to our example, this is one of the many available on the Web images available under the Creative Common license (specifically a type called her Attribution – thus committing the use of photography as a raw material for works of graphic in including those of a commercial nature). This does not mean, however, that we become the authors or the owners of these photographs. No. We use only courtesy of the author, who agreed to let others benefit from the effects of his work under certain conditions. Really, there is no need to steal other photographers with their photos (and so no need for this to not justified), if at hand we have so many pictures of cast at our disposal for this purpose.
In our particular example is all you need. Of course, both images differ quite significantly in both color and illumination. They also have other dimensions. It’s all but there are differences, which we will simply have to deal with. A tablet will help us to do this so that the end result looked just fine.
